Ayurveda, the system of ancient Indian medical practices, makes use of herbs to prevent or treat different illnesses. The practices are almost 5,000 years old and are now being employed as an alternative medicine. Because many of ayurvedic treatments involve easily available ingredients, ayurvedic treatments can be conveniently made at home. The treatments come in different forms and can treat a variety of conditions. They are prepared in a way that preserves most of their therapeutic properties. Here’s how to prepare ayurvedic home remedies for different conditions.
Pimples. There are several ayurvedic home remedies for pimples. Orange peel paste is one of the most common. It is prepared by pounding wet orange peels until they form a thick paste. This paste is applied to the affected area and should be washed thoroughly with warm water after.
Skin allergy. Mix sandalwood and a few drops of limejuice in a bowl. Stir the ingredients well to achieve a paste consistency. The paste should be applied to the affected area to relieve itch. After a few minutes, rinse the paste off.
Athlete’s foot. Garlic has potent anti-bacterial properties that can work against athlete’s foot. To use, simply rub a large garlic clove on the affected area. You can also leave crushed garlic if you prefer. Garlic might leave a burning sensation. If that happens, simply wash the foot with lukewarm water.
Arthritis. Ayurvedic home remedies for arthritis are usually taken orally. Turmeric powder mixed in milk is an effective joint pain remedy. Simply mix half spoon turmeric in one cup milk. Drink the mixture. Black sesame seed juice is also recommended. Make this juice by soaking a spoonful of black sesame seeds in ½ cup water overnight. Drink the juice with the sesame seeds.
Hair loss. You can treat hair loss in different ayurvedic ways. You can, for one, soak fenugreek seeds into a bowl of water. Put the mixture onto the scalp, making sure to massage the scalp in the process. Cover the hair for three hours. Wash after. This treatment should be done for at least 30 days. Another option is the coconut oil and amla mixture. Boil the mixture and apply to the scalp after cooling. Rinse after a few minutes.
The nice thing about ayurvedic home remedies is that not only are they cheap, they also often don’t cause side effects. This makes the remedies even more convenient to use. Still, the best way to deal with these conditions is prevention. If you practice a healthy lifestyle, follow a healthy diet, and exercise regularly, you most likely won’t need any of these home remedies. Remember, part of the ayurvedic belief is healthy living.
