As the name implies, this diet is influenced by the culinary traditions of the Japanese people. In most Asian countries, including Japan, there is no obesity problem. The primary reason for that is the type of diet.

Benefit

Japanese dietary plans are generally much lower in calories than their Western counterparts. The average calorie content in a normal Japanese menu is approximately 1,200 calories. Therefore, with a strict Japanese diet, one can lose weight and enjoy their meal at the same time.

The Japanese diet concentrates on vegetables, rice, fish and soy products. Because these are low in fat, there is guaranteed weight loss after a period of time. This diet also involves drinking plenty of green tea, which is widely known for its weight loss properties.

It should also be noted the Japanese diet does not include bread, cereals and dairy products.

Assessment

The protein content of the diet is 10 to 15 percent, the fat content can be up to 25 percent and the carbohydrate content is 65 percent. A vitamin or mineral deficiency is not a risk in the Japanese diet.

Soy products are suppliers of plant protein and are very healthy. Fish contains valuable omega-3 fatty acids that protect the heart against vascular diseases. Fish also provides more animal protein. Green tea protects the cells.

The Japanese diet is ideal for people who love to cook and those who love Japanese cuisine. There are plenty of Japanese shops to buy ingredients for Japanese recipes. There are also a lot of Japanese restaurants that serve Japanese cuisine.
