Cayenne pepper, or chili pepper is a sharp, annual herb that grows about 20-100 cm. high. The shrub consists of woody, branched stems with individual bulky, oval leaves.Its flowers are dirty-white in color, while its fruits are glossy red, yellow or green. The plant is rarely destroyed by predators because of its own physiological defense mechanism.

Benefits

Chili peppers are used to make a variety of products including herbal painkillers. The capsicum from the cayenne pepper affects the nerves in the painful area so that a distribution of signals no longer takes place and a soothing relief is achieved. The pain decreases temporarily.

Cayenne pepper also helps in alleviating hamstring injury, severe muscle pain, muscle tightness, lumbago and rheumatism. It also helps ease painful muscle tension around the shoulder, arms, and spine.

Cayenne pepper is commercially available as ointment, tincture and heat patch. A lot of health products contain components of chili pepper in small amounts. Products withlower levels of cayenne pepper is less effective in healing and calming the nerves

Found in abundance in South America and Africa, the fruit of the cayenne pepper is used as an ingredient in many medicines and herbal products. The pods of the fruit have a high margin for the seeds.

Chili peppers are very good for the health because they contain capsicum, dihydrocapsaicum, flavonoids, steroidsapponine, carotenoids and essential oils. The alkaloid capsicum is colorless and very resistant and can not be destroyed by cooking or freezing.
