Beautiful skin diet promotes foods that are really good for our skin to keep them smooth, soft and wrinkle free. These foods are rich in protein, certain fats, vitamins, minerals and other trace elements. Particularly important are the vitamins A and carotenoids, vitamin C, E, B6, biotin, and the trace element zinc.
Benefits

· Biotin is good for the skin. It helps promote the skin’s metabolism and slow down of skin aging.

· Protein promotes the growth of cells and the regeneration of the skin and provides the calcium needed to build and maintain bones and teeth.

· Vitamin A, found in animal food, ensures smooth skin. It also stimulates cell growth and accelerates cell renewal of the skin. Vitamin A is contained in some fish such as eel, tuna and herring; liver, butter and egg yolk.

· Carotenoids, named also as Pro-Vitamin A, ensure a healthy skin color and form the body’s protection against sunburn. They are abundantly present in carrots, kale, spinach, fennel, broccoli, chicory and lettuce. Carotenoids are converted to Vitamin A using good fats, the healthiest of which is that found in rape seed oil.

· Vitamin C- and vitamin E-rich foods such as vegetables, fruits, wheat, and rape seed oil prevent premature aging by protecting the cells from harmful substances that may arise, such as through UV radiation.

· Zinc is involved in wound healing.

Assessment

There should be restraint in using carotene as too much dosage can turn the skin to orange.

To achieve beautiful skin, it is important to drink around 2.0 to 2.5 liters a day to naturally regulate digestion. Exercising also contributes to the maintenance your skin’s health. Avoid stress.
