Seven-day-Grain Diet

The 7-day grain diet promotes mainly the consumption of grain products, supplemented by fruits, vegetables, milk and other dairy products.

The daily diet for the week-long treatment entails eating different kinds of grain with a required daily ration of 750-1200 calories per day. Grains such as brown rice, wheat, cereal mix, millet, oatmeal, barley flour, and spelt porridge are allowed.

For example, brown rice is the cooked meal for day one. You then have to split this portion into three parts: for breakfast, for lunch and for dinner. Meals should be combined with certain fruits and vegetables.

Most health shops offer bags of the ready-mix grains needed for the 7-day diet. Recipes and instructions on what should be eaten in combination with each grain can be found on the labels.

Benefits

· It is effective. This diet has low-fat and protein intake, providing a relatively high weight loss in seven days with at least 1-4 kg of weight loss possible.

· It is fiber-rich, thus, ensuring a stable blood sugar levels and one gets a feeling of satisfaction almost every meal. Plus, it helps improve bowel function.

· It is convenient to follow. Since there are enough health shops available almost in every corner, the 7-day grain diet is easy to start and preparation time would be short. Just read the instructions carefully.
Assessment

Due to the high proportion of fiber, the diet can cause digestive disorders. It is therefore important to ensure that sufficient fluid is consumed per day, at least 3-4 liters a day.

Lack of protein, fat and essential nutrients can lead to malnutrition with a longer implementation of the diet. Thus, additional ingredients are needed, including fruits, vegetables, yogurt and milk, tomato paste, herbs and spices.

Sugar, alcohol and sweetened drinks are taboo during the grain-treatment. This is best as a temporary diet because longer treatment would be inappropriate as the body would be missing important nutrients and minerals.
