Question:

Hi Natural Health,

Good day, I am currently suffering from Chronic Lymphadenitis for several
years now, and on my research, i stumbled upon an article about Bay Laurel
Essential Oil and how it can greatly help me lessen my suffering. I would
like to know if your company plans to make one or if you can refer me to
someone you know locally here in the Philippines where I can buy it from?

Thank you and God Bless.

Response:

Hi Carlo,

I am not aware of any local source of Bay Laurel Essential Oil though they are available in the foreign markets. Bay Oil has been traditionally used to treat hystyeria, indigestion, colic, fever, and to promote menstruation. They are used as fragrance component in detergents, cosmetics, toiletries, and perfumes. They are also extensively used in processed food, alcoholic and soft drinks.

As for its indication to lymphadenitis, I need to do more research on it. But a reminder of caution, Bay Oil can be narcotic, and proper dilution must be observed before use. Although it is relatively non-toxicant and non-irritant, it may also cause dermatitis.

Acute lymphadenitis (inflamation of lymph nodes) is characterized by bacterial invasion from injured skin or mocusal or from other pathological site, example, spreading of microbes from boil or athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) area by lymphatic vessels to the respective lymph nodes. The acute lymphadenitis will progress to chronic lymphadenits if treatment is inadequate or if the immune resistance of the body is low.

Lymphadenitis occurs when the glands become enlarged by inflammation, ussually in response to bacteria, visruses, or fungi. The swollen glands are usually found near the site of an underlying infection, tumor, or inflammation.

Lymphadenitis may spread within hours, therefore treatment should begin promptly. Treatment may include:

Antibiotics to treat any underlying infection
Analgesics to control pain
Anti-inflammatory medications to reduce inflammation and swelling
Cold compresses to reduce inflammation and pain
Surgery may be needed to drain any abscess

For me, I would suggest prevention. Good general health and hygiene are helpful in the prevention of any infection. Since the acute lymphadenitis will progress to chronic lymphadenitis if treatment is inadequate or if the immune resistance of the body is low, I suggest that you boost your body immune resistance with a daily dietary supplement of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO).

VCO nourishes the body and strengthen the immune system. The oil is also valued for its anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties.
