For many young people, part of the reality of moving out of your parents’ home and being independent is having less undesignated funds since most of it now goes to paying bills you never had to worry about before – and since this has been the case with me, I have decided to look for cheap or, even better, free alternatives for my health and fitness.
One of the things I decided to do was to cut my gym membership because I didn’t want to have to pay a monthly membership fee. I’m at a point where I want less of these monthly commitments in my life – and this has nothing to do with my so-called fear of “commitment”. This has more to do with the economics of things.
Instead of the gym, I started to do more running, which is free, pushups, which is also free, crunches, free again, and swimming, which is free in my building (though technically I pay for it with my dues).
Another thing I did was I saved up for and purchased a TRX Suspension Training System.
