This fruit is not known to many Filipinos. In fact not many would know the Tagalog term of “pomegranate”? The answer is “Granada” which also means Grenade. Though not a common term, this particular fruit has been the buzz of many emerging beauty products in the market today.
The use of the pomegranate fruit dates back to the Egyptian times which managed health problems like arthritis, circulation problems, digestive disorders and infections.
Today the Pomegranate is included in the elite group of super fruits that have amazing benefits when used as a “healing cream”. Pomegranate has moisturizing, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Being a very potent source of anti-oxidants, the fruit delivers anti-aging derivatives that help in building of collagen in the skin. Thus this miracle fruits slows down skin degradation with aging and prevents skin cancer. Pomegranate also contains keratinocyte which is a key ingredient in numerous sunscreens.
Watson’s recently launched their Pure Beauty Pomegranate skin care line, I haven’t really tried it but I am mostly intrigued. I think as an improvement to this blog readers can now share their experiences with particular products featured. Let’s see how “natural” products really are by looking at the key ingredients. There’s a lot of products claiming to be “natural” and I’d like to check which ones are really completely natural. I know we talk about Jurlique products here a lot because that’s one brand that’s completely organic.
Maybe the other guys at naturalhealth.ph can comment on this one. For sure I will comment in the week to come.
