Balancing Foaming Cleanser

A pimple is caused by the clogging of excess sebum on the pores of the skin usually caused by oily skin types and/or hormonal imbalance.

In most cases cleansing helps regulate and washes off the sebum but apart from that cleansing also helps in the preventing the reappearance of acne causing bacteria in the skin.

Pick cleansers that do not overly strip off the oil from your skin. Avoid that squeaky clean feeling after washing. Chances are you’ve just activated your skin to go overdrive on oil production hence the vicious cycle of producing another round of sebum rush. Natural ingredients are derived from natural essential oils; essential oils give balance to skin ph levels.

Most cleansers are designed to improve once appearance, however if you want to be cautious, buy a more established brand. This is because of the fact that most likely a lot of money and research has been put into the productive thus making it more effective.

Can certain cleansers cause pimples?

Avoid ingredient offenders such as:
isopropyl myristate, isopropyl palmitate, isopropyl isostearate
butyl stearate
isostearyl neopentanoate
myristyl myristate
decyl oleate
octyl stearate, octyl palmitate
isocetyl stearate…
These ingredients are not directly linked with acne however an interesting study was done back in the 1980’s that was conducted using animal testing strengthening the link of these ingredients to acne.

Since animal testing is prohibited nowadays there is really now way to tell for sure.
