The rule of thumb does not change, even an actress like me must make sure we cover the basics before anything else: wear a clean face when the day is done and keep it that way until you sleep. Since I grew up watching my mom wipe off all the makeup from her face with soft tissue and cold cream, it was natural for me to take after the practice when I started doing TV shoots at twelve. I remember that I wouldn’t go to bed without lathering my face, no matter how tired I was, with heavy cream before I went to sleep.

That was until I encountered the “miracle oil” that didn’t need tissue, and neither did it need any soap to wash off all the excess oil which cold cream usually gives you after cleansing. All it needed was water and that’s it! I was so happy with it that I switched even it was twelve times the price of my good old cream. In my mind, it was convenient, it works, and so it was worth it.

It has, since then, been that way for years until someone gave me a bottle of Jurlique’s Replenishing Foaming Cleanser. To be honest, I found myself doubtful at first, thinking that this was one of those cleansers who tried to be the “miracle oil” and yet performed nothing like it. Well, I am actually happy to say that I was wrong. Jurlique’s Replenishing Foaming Cream is everything that “miracle oil” is and more.

It usually takes a longer time and more intense rubbing around the eye area since it gets all the blacks, browns, shadow colors, when cleaning my face after work. I figured it would be a great test to see if the cleanser was really doing its job, to look for residues of black mascara or eyeliners even after I’ve washed the cleanser off with water.

Each time proved to be a surprise since Jurlique doesn’t only leave a spotless face all over, but I realized that I didn’t even have to rub as hard as I did before. It could only mean that Jurlique is not just any kind of cleanser, but one that cleanses deeply and thoroughly.

Using Jurlique is also “getting the best of both worlds” since it has a milky texture without the thickness of cream, and consistency without the greasiness of oil. I’ve never tried anything as rich, yet so smooth and gentle. What’s more is that the cleanser gives off such a soothing, relaxing scent that probably comes from its organic essential oils.

Its feel and smell encourages me to treat my skin better. I now find myself making gentle massaging motions instead of harsh rubbing ones to my face and actually look forward to the end of each day, when Jurlique creates an instant facial session right in the comfort of my own home.

A friend told me once that we should start minding every little thing that we apply to our skin because our pores may serve as gateways to a lot of things like dangerous chemicals, which can eventually lead to complications such as irreversible discoloration or worse, cancer.

To think that it absolutely cleans my face even on days when I had to wear heavy makeup, it is like icing on a cake to know that Jurlique’s cleanser is all natural. Not only do I feel clean and fresh, moreover I feel safe knowing that it is free from ingredients that might cause side effects that no one would want to have in the long run.

On the whole, I say that Jurlique is true to its claim. I really do feel clean and rejuvenated after each use at the end of each day – as it says on the bottle! To add, I am equally pleased with the results of Jurlique’s day cream and moist spray. They support the freshness without sacrificing the glow I’d like to keep all day.
